Unlike most other cables, no 25-pin adapter is required, this connects directly to PC or laptop.
This quality cable has a unique, proprietary RIB chip built into the connector shell (like the original TAIT cable). Unlike inexpensive direct-connect cables without the correct circuitry, this cable cannot damage your radio and/or computer or provide marginal programming results.
