    Description

    The most common floral motifs in Japanese textiles are the five- and six-petalled flowers: plum, cherry, mulberry leaf, hemp leaf, Chinese bellflower, narcissus, oak leaf, pinks. Often seen also on Japanese textiles (and in other crafts) is the four-petalled flower, most often referred to as an ‘imaginary Chinese flower’. The kara in karabana is an old Japanese word referring to China and hana means flower.
    Fabric is Japanese Ro-Silk . Ro fabric is loosely woven from very fine silk threads, creating sheer, airy, summer textile for kimono and other garments.
    Silver and gold foil threads are included in the pattern design.
