Product Description
The ProRIB/GE is a compact, self-contained professional grade USB Radio Interface Box (RIB) / Programming Interface for all GE/Ericsson/MA-Com/Harris portable/mobile radios that use Windows-based ProGrammer and RPM software. This brand new product was designed as a GE-compatible version of our popular ProRIB and ProRIB/USB Motorola-compatible products.
Direct USB-based replacement for all versions of the
GE/Ericsson/MA-Com/Harris
TQ3310 (prog only) and TQ3370 (prog/flash) Radio Programming Interface. The ProRIB/GE is fully TQ3370 compatible for both programming and firmware (flash) updating and features an internal, regulated 12V VPP supply.
The ProRIB/GE is also a great USB upgrade for the discontinued Price Industries P96A serial interface.
When used with Windows-based software, the ProRIB/GE is 100% compatible with the original GE serial interface but without the signal level and timing issues common with USB adapters and newer USB-only PCs/laptops. The ProRIB/GE was designed in response to ongoing customer requests for a truly 100% compatible, native USB interface without the hassle and RF-interference issues of external cables, adapters, batteries, power-supplies, etc. The ProRIB/GE uses the latest surface-mount and MosFET technology for a USB interface that works with everything, everytime, guaranteed. The ProRIB/GE is the size of a 25-pin serial adapter cable, ideal for both shop and field use. Connects directly to a PC USB port and has a 25-pin male connector for standard GE/Ericsson/MA-Com RIB-type cables. Length approx. 30".
The ProRIB/GE is entirely USB bus powered. No batteries, AC-adapters, mechanical switches or user intervention is required.
The ProRIB/GE will read and program any GE/Ericsson radio using ProGrammer or RPM (Windows-based) software and the corresponding GE RIB-type cable. While many older radios using DOS-based software (MVS, MLS-II, etc) are reported to work with the ProRIB/GE under Windows XP or later, others may require one of our model-specific RIB-less serial port cables which work with all software versions.
