    Description

This is such a unique Chuya Obi (obi that has different pattern on each side)! On one side, the obi is made from materials from likely the late Taisho era (1912-1926), but the other side is remade from material from a Maru obi from the Meiji era (1868-1912). A unique antique piece! One side has a rooster motif and the other has a kikko (tortoiseshell) motif commonly seen in Meiji era pieces. The piece is in good condition, strong enough to be tied, but there are some patinas and stains visible on the lighter side of the obi, as shown in the pictures.
