ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Falcon Trading company was started in the early 1980s by Bubba Shackelford in Prescott Arizona. Bubba got his earliest start from Jock & Al Favour who are apart of a group of artists with names like "Jesse Robbins-(who actually got his start working with Bubba at Falcon), Charlie Favour,Joe Eby,Dennis Hogan",etc..These artists all have much in common with each other in regards to their jewelry styles, which leans toward where everything is completely crafted by hand, working with heavy gauge ingot silver & giving these most incredible finishes that that emulate vintage styles from decades ago..
Bubba began by selling his jewelry out of his Ford Falcon automobile all over town, giving Falcon Trading Company it's namesake. Bubba produced FTC jewelry for many years afterwards, until his sight began to fade from diabetes. In 2014 Bubba took on a young student at that time named Joe O'Neill, who is now the head silversmith at Falcon Trading, and works with Bubba daily to continue on the tradition of creating beautiful tufa cast ingot jewelry in the southwestern/Santa Fe style. Bubba demanded that the jewelry be made right & nothing is ever put through without 1st having Bubba's approval!

DESCRIPTION:
Made exclusively for my store is this impressively made pendant that could not have been made more exact than it would have been back in the 1940's..
This was originally a old 1920's silver dollar that was all hand forged & cut out to create one of the most recognizable birds of the southwest...The "Thunderbird".. All the detail has been literally hammered out,(You can see the work marks when you have it in hand) but still has the 'ridges' of the coin intact along the perimeter. It is slightly domed & has stamped & chased accents that help lend to it's appeal.
In the center is a premium square cut of natural,non-treated Cheyenne turquoise that has some amazing characteristics & can remind you somewhat of Royston turquoise.
The bale is hand stamped & even though it has a 9.5 mm opening,I would suggest going
no larger
than pairing it with a 8 mm bead so it can move & breathe on the necklace. What would look just as good,is to put this on a thick strip of brown or black leather for a more rugged western look!!!
This is made with true Southwest style & would be a wonderful piece to add to any SW collection!!
**IN THE LAST PHOTO IS A 'PEYOTE BIRD"(WATER BIRD) THAT CAN BE FOUND IN MY LISTINGS**

PLEASE NOTE:
I am not a professional photographer, but I try my best to give you the truest in color that I can without a whole lot of editing. So please take this into consideration when buying.
In order to give you close up photos, pictures can tend to make the item look much more larger & more magnified than in actuality.Close up's can make the item look even larger & then you get it in hand & say "it looked much larger in the photos!"So to get a accurate idea of how big this is,please pull out a tape measure & compare to my given measurements.
If you find the item is not as great as I think it is,it does not mean the item is 'not as described'..
